Lighthouse Easter Egg History Hunt | Texas Historical Commission
The Port Isabel Lighthouse State Historic Site and the City of Port Isabel will host the 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the Lighthouse on Saturday, March 30th. This event is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, March 30th, this year’s hunt will also include a HISTORY HUNT! Nearly 1,000 RED Easter Eggs marked with PORT ISABEL LIGHTHOUSE STATE HISTORIC SITE will be scattered among the other eggs in Lighthouse Park. Open the egg and follow the instructions for even more prizes!
Starting on Saturday, March 23rd, RED EGGS will be given out at the Port Isabel Lighthouse, Visitor Center, Port Isabel Historical Museum, Port Isabel City Hall and the Port Isabel Public Library during open hours. The RED Easter Eggs are marked with PORT ISABEL LIGHTHOUSE STATE HISTORIC SITE. Instructions will be included in the RED EGGS. Must be 12 years or younger to picked up your eggs at these sites between 3/23 – 3/29. One (1) egg per child. Prizes can be redeemed March 23 – April 30, 2024. Limited quantities are available.
On Saturday, March 30th, it’s a different kind of “hunt”. Over 20,000 eggs will be scattered on the hill of the Lighthouse. Participants will need to bring their own baskets and will line up on the north and south sides of Lighthouse Park. At 10 a.m. the starting line will be released, and the fun begins. The Easter Bunny will also be making an appearance and posing for photos. For the finders of the RED EGGS with “Port Isabel Lighthouse State Historic Site” written in white, the Treasure History Hunt prizes can be redeemed in the Visitors Center after following the clues inside the RED EGGS.
The Keeper’s Cottage Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lighthouse will be open at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission: $5 adults; $4 seniors; $3 children. Parking available around the park. (956) 943-0735.
